Eurovision Pride was born in 2025 in Maspalomas, right after Maspalomas Pride by Freedom, when the Eurovision Grand Final was broadcast live on the main stage in Yumbo Square. The initiative began as a symbolic act of protest after restrictions were placed on the display of LGBTQ+ flags on stage during Eurovision broadcasts. In response, we filled the Yumbo stage with LGBTQ+ flags and colours, turning the square into a space of visibility, freedom and pride.

What started as a spontaneous act of protest and celebration quickly became something bigger. In 2026, Eurovision Pride returns as a full LGBTQ+ festival, celebrating the music and diversity that many people have always associated with Eurovision, while also expressing concern about the current direction of the contest.
